I wanted to make my family a cake for Valentine's Day but didn't want to make a traditional heart shaped cake. I was on Pinterest the other day and saw someone make conversation heart cheesecakes.. I thought.. OH, I so want to do that. But as I was looking at how she was making them and the supplies you needed I knew it was going to cost me too much money since I didn't have what she was using. So I decided to tweak it a little and do it a little different. You can check out how she did it at her blog Hungry Happenings.
I decided to make mine as a cake and use a cookie cutter to shape them. Red Velvet Cake w/ frosting I tinted to match the traditional conversation heart candies. I then found four sayings that match each of us in the family and gave the cakes to my family on Valentine's Day. It was the perfect size for one person.
