Sonora Desert Museum Field Trip- Arizona
On our trip to Arizona in October we spent an entire day at the Sonora Desert Museum west of Tucson Arizona. What an awesome adventure there. This is an outdoor museum where you see all the animals and plant life in it's natural habitat. We took several hours going through this and spending a large amount of time in the warm sun but it was well worth it.
We checked out the turtles and they had a section the kids could wear a turtle shell.
They had a section where they had hummingbirds in a large area where you could walk inside and watch them fly by. One came by and checked out the kids suckers they were eating while walking around. It was a prickly pear cactus sucker and they loved it.
This guy below was hanging out on the bench outside the hummingbird exhibit.
Pretty cool cluster of cactus on our walk around the museum. It reminded me of Sponge Bob Square Pants..
Love me some Saguaro Cactus..
On our journey we stopped and took a couple pictures..
They had a dinosaur section. The kids got to dig for bones..
They had an indoor exhibit about bats. We got to try on some bat ears to get the opportunity to hear like a bat. It was cool..
They had an owl on display as we were walking around
Thought this sign was interesting to read. It talks about how Arizona has 5 Seasons. Spring, Foresummer or Dry Summer, Summer Monsoon, Fall and Winter
Snakes.. ick
My beautiful daughter on the trail..
