I started this journey because I felt overwhelmed, and overworked.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5ifZxfaet_VzdScjN7tqpeLz2LY6R9Gca0exKh-mJn1iC2G5VUT0DtqclRp9Gr-4T4kKroqhyphenhypheniN5F8ZeWVwMtworMp53EeA2XJ4DKcG7h1tzDglh6UUcNa3MmP9L9CHTfmoDJEetW8SDfkcjW9grda7btm7ClsLTIdtJHJf3Z9umQSrd1EUeQU6cBifs/s1080/One%20Word_20231211_101456_0000.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1080" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5ifZxfaet_VzdScjN7tqpeLz2LY6R9Gca0exKh-mJn1iC2G5VUT0DtqclRp9Gr-4T4kKroqhyphenhypheniN5F8ZeWVwMtworMp53EeA2XJ4DKcG7h1tzDglh6UUcNa3MmP9L9CHTfmoDJEetW8SDfkcjW9grda7btm7ClsLTIdtJHJf3Z9umQSrd1EUeQU6cBifs/s320/One%20Word_20231211_101456_0000.png" width="320" /></a></div><p>So I started with the word Simplify. I took that word and applied it to every aspect of my life and by the end of the year, my schedule, day to day life felt less chaotic, all due to me applying the word. I cleaned up my schedule, my house and said no to things that did not help me or my family. </p><p>As you can see, I chose Balance for the following year so I could keep my simple life in check and I went from there. Each one supports the previous year's word.</p><p>2011- Simplify</p><p>2012- Balance</p><p>2013- Renew</p><p>2014- Focus</p><p>2015- Strength</p><p>2016- Intentional </p><p>2017- Determined</p><p>2018- Commit</p><p>2019- Invest</p><p>2020- Vision</p><p>2021- Cleanse</p><p>2022- Believe</p><p>2023- Purpose</p><p>2024- Connection</p><p>I am finishing up this year - Purpose and I feel like I have accomplished this Word in my life and to bring it to the next level, 2024 will be Connection. I was looking into other words for next year but I woke up the other day with this word solid on my mind, coming from nowhere. At least that's what I thought until I truly believed it came from the Lord. </p><p>Have you ever chosen One Word?</p>Lynn http://www.blogger.com/profile/08297672241461366653noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4008709261477418838.post-60039645181197156642023-11-29T18:30:00.000-07:002023-11-29T18:30:18.615-07:00Once Upon a Book Club <p style="text-align: center;"> Have you ever heard of Once Upon a Book Club? I just recently stumbled upon it myself and I am so happy I did. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I am an avid reader so when I can find cool book clubs to join that allows me to learn of new authors and books, I am in!</p><p style="text-align: center;">This one takes it even further with not only the book for the month but it lets it come alive by adding gifts related to the book each month.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Check out my unveiling of my first ever box (November 2023) and also learn about their Black Friday Week BOGO sales going on now through the end of the week.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/H69WZaadLI4" width="320" youtube-src-id="H69WZaadLI4"></iframe></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>Lynn http://www.blogger.com/profile/08297672241461366653noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4008709261477418838.post-29442483471317404342023-11-11T19:28:00.005-07:002023-11-11T19:28:22.946-07:00Progress Over Perfection<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Finishing Day 34/75 of my 75 Day Soft Challenge. I wanted to do a side by side comparison of my progress so far. I can see some changes and that is very motivating. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Weightlifting has been the best thing I could add to my daily routine. I have been a cardio/runner girl for many years and always felt I needed to burn LOTS of calories each day. Those were also the days where I exercised to outrun my fork. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Today though, I am building habits in my daily eating and because of that I can focus and concentrate on building much needed muscle for my aging body. I am 49 now and it's really important to me to build my muscles before it gets harder and harder in my fifties.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I can't wait to see where I am at the end of this journey of 75 days. I do know that this is just the beginning of my weight training journey. My goal is one year... To look back and see where I am from Day 1 which was October 9, 2023. October 9, 2024 will be a great day!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieR7BRDFRcIQyWAEGq7rx0tv7ZTXLuUg6PPVO0VedVSQSf70IJCBDw0GdhR7j3J_Q9HPhmv9d0nklfG55P0mdP2QGkIUN3K0HqXsjxnVEXUe1XxDui-ml8e39HtKsVb8yAJeUZjwg23P_DWqXttn15CjMTCPBuJh8Xj6fIyrElIZAHJMLzxRWag_SOoew/s2832/IMG_20231009_130842.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; It's a pretty intense workout/fitness/health challenge that is done daily for 75 days. Two workouts a day- min of 45 min each and one must be outside, 100 oz of water, read ten pages of a non fiction book, follow a healthy diet, with no sweets or alcohol. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Let's just say a little too much for me.. I did try it though this past Spring. I got 18 days in and felt overwhelmed, and literally burnt out due to the two workouts a day and way too much water for me daily. She is shocked to find that the life she was leading before the accident is unrecognizable. Her once-loving husband, Michael, is a distant workaholic she isn't sure she can trust and her once-bubbly daughter, Avery, has spent the last year hidden away in her room.</p><p style="text-align: center;">For Avery, life stopped when she lost her twin. Now, if she wants to graduate high school, she'll have to accept help from Xander Dixon, her brother's best friend and the boy who relentlessly teased her for years. And if Lori wants to reconnect with her husband, she'll have to grapple with information her brain is trying to keep secret. With every memory that returns, she can't help but wonder if the life she can't remember is one she'd rather forget.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><i><b>My Thoughts on This Book:</b></i></p><p style="text-align: center;">When tragedy hits the Mendenhall family, leaving Lori, without her memory and her son, Austin taken to soon. Avery is left with an empty heart while putting pieces back together after her twin died. Memories slowly return for Lori, but are they something they want to remember or do they want to forget?</p><p style="text-align: center;">This story is about loss, forgiveness, grief and having faith when you have no idea what tomorrow brings. Bring a tissue because this will tug at your heart and help you realize life is precious, family is everything and your faith sees you through. There is so many amazing scriptures in this book alone so I will be posting some great layouts over the next few days.. This scripture journaling page highlights Genesis 12:2</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">"I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing."</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">This is where the Lord is speaking to Abram. He is asking Abram to leave the country where his people gather and gather to the land He will show him.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">This layout is all about doodling and water coloring. My goal was to trace the image and then water color over top but I had another image under on the previous page that wouldn't allow me to see through so I improvised by printing the image on sticker paper, colored the image as I would of before and adhered it to the page.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9QHG3wOFYwdXYrE9nwR_H7x0ZrrEepoQYsI84KijjrpGtfyMVn4q3uoA2s0x-UekP0espKxethPBDNpR0yR-llIoGnkShutyEAYk4SMEAirJOKuuLQOy6_yLS0DVjailPeb98w9z6P0OMJcR6egYxsxtCI8BzVhF8plg5suOZ6sjvASwIDWjKeP9e/s4608/IMG_20230128_220911.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4608" data-original-width="3456" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9QHG3wOFYwdXYrE9nwR_H7x0ZrrEepoQYsI84KijjrpGtfyMVn4q3uoA2s0x-UekP0espKxethPBDNpR0yR-llIoGnkShutyEAYk4SMEAirJOKuuLQOy6_yLS0DVjailPeb98w9z6P0OMJcR6egYxsxtCI8BzVhF8plg5suOZ6sjvASwIDWjKeP9e/w480-h640/IMG_20230128_220911.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05); color: #0f0f0f; font-family: Roboto, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: start; white-space: pre-wrap;">Supplies Used:
