Homeschool Essentials: Curriculum

5 Days of Homeschooling Essentials

I'm excited about joining in on the 5 Days of Homeschooling Essentials Blog Hop sponsored by the Schoolhouse Review Crew.

Day Four:

Today, my topic contains info regarding "Curriculum"

What Curriculum Are We Using for Grade 6?

This year we've stepped away from using our favorite curriculum "Heart of Dakota". The book my son was heading into was a bit too old for him so we decided to take a year off and wait until he hit middle school (grade 7) to work on the next level. So this year I worked hard finding curriculum that would work with the Charlotte Mason approach to teaching, which is what we follow.

Here is what we chose for 2013-14

For History, and Literature we are using Notgrass- Uncle Sam and You
If you'd like to learn more about this curriculum in depth I just did a detailed post

Language Arts- We've chosen a few books from Queen Homeschool which follows the Charlotte Mason approach to homeschooling.
