My Husband Rocks~Loving Sacrificially

This week's prompt:
Tell us about a time that your spouse went out of his way to serve you, and love you sacrificially.

This actually happened recently.. My hubby and I have really been working on our relationship these past couple years and it's done amazing things to us as a couple. A couple weeks ago, I hurt my back. In the middle of the night I woke up in so much pain I was crying and even that made it hurt. He helped me out of the bed and was with me throughout the entire night taking care of me and helping me with a heating pad, water, whatever I needed. Neither of us got any sleep that night but he was so helpful. The next day wasn't much better so he took the day off from work to help me in everything.

He helped me get out of the chair, he served me food, cleaned the kitchen and just pampered me. I hurt my back while shoveling snow when we had a lot of it and just before then he told me to take it easy because my back was sore from shoveling a few days before.. but I didn't listen and I pulled my back out. He could of easily said, I told you so.. but he didn't. He babied me all day and the entire night.. He is such a wonderful husband. I couldn't live without him..

My Husband Rocks~Why I love My Hubby!

This week on My Husband Rocks meme, she asks us to answer the two questions below!

List at least one thing your husband did or said in the past week that reminded you why you love him.

Wow, pinpointing just one thing is a tough one. I've had a bit of a down week.. I usually feel this way every year at this time. I'm thinking its a combination of the holidays being over, putting away the tree and such and then re-evaluating my school schedule with the boy's. A lot of changes happen this month I've noticed in the past and it gets to me a bit.. My husband has been a trooper as far as my mood has been. He has been such an encouragement and an inspiration to me as I walk through this mood I am in.

I also talked to him about my desire to lose weight and get more fit. Right before I told him the success I have been having with 9 inches gone and 5 lbs lost, he came to me, and told me how lucky he was to have me as his wife and that I was looking very nice. He even gave me a little "hubby" look he gives me and it melted my heart. I then told him of my good fortunes with my exercising and he was so proud of me! I love him, not because he acknowledged me as getting thinner but that he loved me as much when I had the extra 5lbs.. That's what touched me the most.

Share a "Generous Wife Tip" A tip to do little things for your husband, little things that he could do for himself, but that he would appreciate having you do for him.

This was an easy one to answer.. There is a couple things that I love to do for him that he would rather do himself but he loves it when I do it for him. He got into the habit awhile back to do his own laundry because he felt bad that I had to do so much around the house.. Lately, I have been noticing when he would need his clothes washed and I would sneak and wash/fold them while he was at work, then put them away. He wouldn't notice them until the following day, and then he really lights up and smiles.. Also, each night, I set the coffee pot to go off at a certain time in the morning so the coffee is hot and ready when we awaken. When up I will go and get coffee for the both of us. I love to sip his while he's watching and telling him that it's just right.. He loves that I test it to make sure it's perfect for him.. It's just something cute we do for each other.. the little things to show we love and care for each other!

Wifey Wednesday~Awaken Love?

For this week's Wifey Wednesday Meme, you can go to:
Love, Honor & Vacuum for more details about this.

I would recommend to go to the link above and read what she has to say so you can better understand my anwer to the following question..

Do you have any tips on how to "awaken love"? What has worked for you?

There are many things that have awakened the love for my husband over the years. First, was to stop always thinking about myself. What am I going to get out of this? I did at one time think that intimacy was a chore but I've learned to grow closer to my husband by growing closer to God. The eye opener was when I realized that my past played a huge part in why I thought that..

I did not get taught the importance of marriage on the intimate level so I thought it was part of the cleaning the house and taking care of the kids chore! At one point it truly felt that way with my first marriage and that set the seed for my future beliefs of intimacy. I was young and also was pressed upon me that is was demanded of me to be intimate and it was not for me at all to enjoy! Over time, I realized that this was wrong and it was meant as a joy from God himself so my selfishness faded and my desire to please my husband kicked in and with that, came a lot more positive feelings towards him.

I would also have to say that doing the Love Dare book and also reading Love and Respect really helped me focus on his needs. It changed how I looked at him.. I was also able to see how important it is to treat your spouse with respect. How important it is to allow him to feel special without expectations or demands.. What an eye opener it was to go through that. Our marriage is much stronger and my desire to be intimate with him has increased.

I think the most important thing I learned over the years as an adult, is that you can overcome your past, and also the negative memories you may have on anything including being intimate with your spouse. It will grow your marriage into what God designed it to be. The closer you grow together in Christ, the closer you will grow together as a couple. God designed us to be one together.. How powerful is that!

In The Beginning There Is Ladybug Chronicles..

Today is the day to bring my daily life over to my own blog. I know.. the other one is my own.. but I want to focus solely on homeschooling on that blog and the day to days of homeschooling the boys. Here I can be myself.. Talk about my likes and dislikes.. The things that go on in my head as a wife and mother and not JUST a homeschool Mom...

I am not sure if I have really mentioned my hobbies.. but I really enjoy making my own greeting cards and scrapbooking. I would love to post pictures of these as I make them. Share recipes that my family loves and the books I love reading will be some topics I'd love to write about. I am also really into photography and look forward to doing more study on this do be better at it.. I am also really enjoying Astronomy. Learning all about the planets, the stars and figuring out my really cool telescope. My desire this year is the learn more French and German. I want to be able to speak to my hubby in German since he lived there for two years before we met. He was in the military.

It's nice to take a few steps back and look at yourself outside of homeschooling your children. I am my own person, with wants and dreams and sometimes that gets clouded up with homeschooling and lesson plans and curriculum.

So enough about homeschooling.. I am excited to have my new blog.. I am trying to get my background to download but it's having trouble so that should be up hopefully soon. I did get my header completed. That too was having problems uploading but I did get it... finally! Got to love computers. Made by man, but it always seems smarter than us.. hmmm...

I will be transferring all my meme's over here that are not homeschooling related. I won't physically move the ones I already did of course, just start posting them here from this day forward is all.

Ok, you're probably wondering why I chose Ladybug Chronicles for my blog title.. Well, when I was a child, my grandmother used to call me her little ladybug.. I loved it when she called me that. Made me feel special.. So as the years went by the nickname stayed and also came little ladybug trinkets and stuff with ladybugs on them.. I started falling in love with ladybugs after that. I love everything about them. So much, that August 2006 I got a ladybug tattoo on my back left shoulder.. I never thought I would get a tattoo.. but I knew that after 25 years of being my grandma's Little Ladybug and my love for ladybug anything, I knew it was the right choice.. I still LOVE it.. I am glad I have it.. I am also glad I waited though. It's not very big but it's also in a place where you can't see it, even in the Summer so it's my 'little secret'..

The Chronicles part means pretty much that I am going to tell you my story as time goes on.. I look forward to it.. I sometimes need to express myself and I am glad I can do that here.. Thanks for joining me on my new blog and my new journey!!

My Husband Rocks Meme

You know you've been married for over 10 years when you are able to sit down at a restaurant, order two different meals and when the food comes, be able to pick off each others plate without even asking and neither of you mind!

For this week's MY HUSBAND ROCKS, I wanted to briefly mention about how wonderful it is to be married to my husband for over 11 years. To be able to have those restaurant moments with him that I wouldn't want to share with any other person but him.

It's a sad time where most couples don't make it past their fifth anniversary and to look into my husband's eyes after 11 years of marriage and knowing that no other person could fill the shoes of my husband better than him.. My husband rocks because he puts up with me and takes care of me even when I don't think I need it! He sips my coffee each morning to make sure it's 'just' right.. and nothing shows more love than that for me.. I know that might be silly to most people but for me, the little things count when it comes to our marriage. The funny gestures he does each day so he can see a smile on my face.. those are priceless to me..

Tonight we went out to dinner to Pizza Hut since the boy's earned their Book It coupons this past month. Well it's -20 degrees outside with snow and ice all around. After dinner.. I headed towards my door to hop on in.. Well, my honey came over to my side, opened my door and helped me into the car. I beamed with a huge smile for quite sometime after that! Like I said, the little things count and I love him more each day!!

You can participate in My Husband Rocks.. Just go to this link and join in!
