Hoover Dam

On our trip to Arizona back in October we drove through Las Vegas so we could see Hoover Dam. I was so excited to be able to go and walk across it. Seen it many times in books and on the internet but it isn't the same until you can see it in person. I was a bit bummed that we didn't walk the bridge to get a good picture of the dam looking down at it but we did walk the length of it and back and went to check out the gift shop. We didn't pay to take any of the tours as we were trying to save money but if we ever do get back here we are for sure taking the underground dam tour. Here is some pictures of our trip to Hoover Dam...

Halfway across the dam the time changes. Here we are in Arizona time

The kids standing on the time zone line. DD18 is standing on Pacific Time and the boys are standing on Arizona Time (since they don't recognize Daylight Savings Time)

The bridge behind us is where you drive past. On the side closest to the dam is a walking bridge where you can overlook the dam. We didn't get a chance to do it this trip..

Really glad we stopped. It was REALLY hot that day. We got there first thing around 9am and it was already close to 100 degrees...
