About This Book:

What Does It Take to Reveal the True Beauty of a Hidden Gem?
Phoebe Von Bergen, the daughter of a German count, is excited to visit America for the first time while her father purchases sapphires in Helena, Montana. Little does she know, however, that her father's intentions--both for her and the gemstones--are not what she thinks.

Ian Harper, a lapidary working in Helena, finds the dignified young woman staying at the Broadwater Hotel more than a little intriguing. Yet the more he gets to know her, the more he realizes that her family story is based on a lie--a lie she has no knowledge of. And Ian believes he knows the only path that will lead her to freedom.

Meeting Ian has changed everything for Phoebe, and she begins to consider staying in America, regardless of her father's plans. But she may not be prepared for the unexpected danger that results when her family's deception begins to unravel.

My Thoughts On This Book:

This is the second book in the Sapphire Brides series by Tracie Peterson. I read the first book and couldn't wait to dig into this one. Since I live in Montana this series intrigued me due to it's historical nature surrounding sapphires and the area. I couldn't put this book down. Read it in 2 days.. The characters came to life and the story started off strong and gripped me until the end.

Some stories are slow starters. This is not one of them. The best part, you don't have to read the first to love this book. They both have the same sapphires and Montana in common but can easily be read in order or separately..

Phoebe is a loveable character and you feel her toil with the reality of her mother and father and her living in America while her father is helping acquire sapphires. As she learns the truth about her parents will she ever forgive and can she move past the deception and find love and forgiveness..

Ian is a Helena, Montana native working his business until Phoebe shows up to town and turns his world upside down. Trust is a huge deal for Ian, and lying has no part in his world due to past hurts. Can these two find common ground or are their worlds too far apart?
